Features of an AMP eASY Saver Account

There are a lot of high interest savings accounts available, and to know whether the eASY Saver account is the right one for you, you need to know whether the access, the interest and the bonuses will suit your savings needs, and your current spending habits.

AMP’s high interest savings account is right for you if:

•You want to give your savings a boost with a high introductory interest rate. This means that if you have a lump sum of funds you need to deposit to a savings account from a job pay out, or the sale of a house, you can deposit them to your eASY Saver and earn great interest while you decide what to do with them.
‚Ä¢If you’re already an AMP eASY Saver customer you won’t miss out on the bonus interest. Don’t you hate when you buy something and you see it on sale the very next day?
•You want to make unlimited deposits and withdrawals without being penalised. The bonus interest rate and the standard rate on your high interest savings account are not dependent on you maintaining a minimum balance, nor do you have to make only deposits. You can access your account as many times as you like in a month without AMP adjusting your interest rate.
‚Ä¢You and your partner are saving for a goal. Opening a joint high interest savings account may seem like you are opening your savings goal up to twice the temptation, however, when you are saving for a goal with someone else, you will feel less tempted to make withdrawals before you meet that target, because you would be letting down the team! Instead you and your partner can work together, challenging each other to make deposits whenever you can and seeing your savings grow towards an important ‚Äòteam’ purchase.
‚Ä¢You’re not an AMP customer, you don’t have to be. The funds in your high interest savings account are at call because you can log into AMP’s internet banking and transfer them out at any time. This doesn’t mean your eASY Saver account has to be linked to an AMP transaction account, you can link it to any personal savings account in your name. If you are an AMP customer, you can link your high interest account to your transaction account too and you then have 24 hour access to your funds as transfers are instant.
•You will be making regular deposits and want to be earning regular interest. The benefit of compounding interest is that because interest is calculated on your balance daily, and then interest is calculated on that interest the next day and the next (and so on) if you are making regular deposits to your high interest savings account you can steadily grow your interest every day, faster than someone who just made one deposit at the end of each month.
•You want to see exactly how your savings can grow, and what you need to do to make them grow. AMP offers a savings calculator function on their website where you can enter your savings plan or your savings goal, and see how quickly your balance will grow at the current interest rate. This allows you to calculate the exact commitments you need to make to your savings to ensure you reach your goal, and you can see the difference a high rate of interest can make.

Options for Applying for an AMP eASY Saver

When you apply for an AMP high interest savings account you will need to verify your identification if you are not an existing customer, and so you have the option to apply online or to post in your application form with your ID documents.

•You can apply online in less than ten minutes.
•All applicants must be 18 years or older.
•You must be an Australian resident.
•The AMP eASY Saver can only be used for personal use.
•You will have to provide your tax file number to ensure that your interest earnings are taxed at the correct rate.
•If you request that AMP sends you the identification verification forms they will be sent in three business days and once your identity has been verified, your account will be activated in two business days.
•AMP can automatically transfer an opening deposit amount which you have chosen in your application form, and this will be transferred within two business days of your application being submitted.
