Reward Debit Cards
While debit cards are a great way to buy good online and in stores they will often have fewer features then credit cards. You will avoid paying the high interest rates but many credit cards will offer you incentives to use the cards. These can include bonus points that can be used to buy other goods and discounts on other products that are offered with the provider. However, some debit cards will offer you a range of rewards that will encourage you to use the card. This article will explain what a debit card is and what some of the rewards that are offered with debit cards will be.
What are debit cards?
Debit cards are very similar to credit cards in that they will often let you make purchases in any place that will accept the major credit cards. The debit cards differ from credit cards in that you will use your own money on the cards to make purchases. Since you use your own money and not borrowed money from the bank you will not have to pay the interest that comes with the credit cards. The debit cards will usually come with their own fees.
Why are rewards offered?
Debit cards are a great way to make purchases online but if you are not using the card online there is little incentive to use the debit cards as you will have to pay large amounts of fees. Credit cards will often give you incentives to use the cards instead of money and now the debit cards offer many of the same rewards.
What Rewards are Offered
There are a range of rewards that may be offered with debit cards. This section of the article will explain what these rewards may be and how they may benefit you:
- Fly Buy points. Many debit cards will offer you bonus Fly Buy points when you use the card. For example, some providers will link the debit card to your Fly Buys account and will offer you 1 extra point for every $4 that is spent on the card. These extra points will not include the point you receive from the purchase itself. This means that you will accumulate more points and will be able to cash in on the rewards that come with the program.
- Bonus points. Many providers will have their own scheme that is similar to the Fly Buys scheme. They will function in a similar way but you will earn bonus points with every purchase.
- Cash back on purchases. Some providers will even offer you cash back on every dollar that you spend on the debit card. For example, if you spend money on the debit card the provider may give you 1% of the amount back as a refund. This will reduce the cost of your purchases and may even cover the costs of the fees that are charged for the transaction.
When you use a debit card you can be rewarded and if you are loyal to using your card you should be able to get some great bonuses for using the product. Many providers that are offering debit cards are now offering a range of debit card rewards as an incentive for using the card. These rewards can come in the form of extra Fly Buy points on every purchase that is made on the card or even cash back on your purchases. This means that by using the debit card you will be rewarded for your loyalty. If you would like to know more about the reward debit cards then please view our debit card comparison tables.
