ANZ Online Saver Review

Posted May 27th, 2010 and last modified January 31st, 2012

The High interest savings account of the ANZ Online Saver is a flexible way to maximise your interest and savings

Opening an online savings account is all about flexibility, because there are already enough reasons (i.e. excuses) for you to avoid contributing to your savings, without adding a hard to use savings account to the list. In an ANZ Online Saver account you have access to your account 24 hours a day, seven days a week online or over the phone, even on your mobile, and because your high interest ANZ savings account is linked to an ANZ everyday account, you can see your savings adding up immediately.

Open an ANZ Online Saver by 29th February 2012 and earn up to 6.00% p.a. until 30th June 20121. There is no minimum balance needed to open the account. This exclusive online offer is only available by applying through the Apply now button / link. Terms apply*.

Flexibility and Features of the ANZ Online Saver

An easy to use online account is still nothing without great features, and of course a great interest rate, and below are the additional features which can help to accelerate your savings goals:

  • Interest calculated daily and paid monthly.
  • No minimum balance required to open the account.
  • No monthly account fees, no withdrawal fees and no fixed term for your savings.
  • The option to open multiple ANZ Online Saver accounts to clarify your savings goals.
  • Manage your savings and everyday accounts with the same ANZ online banking system and call on the customer service centre for help or support when you need to.

To open an ANZ Online Saver, you must have, or open, an eligible ANZ everyday account. The eligible accounts are:

All accounts come with debit card and cheque book access and have the telephone, internet and Bpay options and features you need to complete your everyday banking.

To be eligible for an ANZ Online Saver account you must be 16 years or older, but parents or guardians can open a high interest online savings account in trust for younger children. You must also be either living in Australia, or be an existing ANZ customer. If you are not yet an ANZ customer you are required to go into an ANZ branch to verify your identity. However, if you are already an ANZ customer, you can consider the Online Saver for your savings even if you are not in Australia.

For example, you may be working, living or travelling overseas and need an account to keep track of your savings, or simply an account which is going to increase in interest as you decrease the balance with your spending. With an Online Saver account you can easily transfer in and out of the account without being penalised. Also, having a separate account with the bulk of your finds in it while travelling keeps your money safe if you lose your debit or credit card.

If you are not already an ANZ customer, you can open a linked ANZ account at the same time, and in the same application as your Online Saver application. You are able to choose your security code and the features of your linked everyday account, all in one application, which takes less than ten minutes to complete.

A high interest savings account with one of Australia’s Big Four Banks gives you security and peace of mind knowing your money is safe, and all savings up to $1 million are guaranteed by the Australian Government until 2011. The ANZ Online Saver account was also awarded a CANSTAR CANNEX five star rating in March 2009. So, open a reliable, award winning, easy to use high-interest online savings account where you can still take advantage of an interest rate boost.
